The role

NextSense has an exciting opportunity for an occupational therapist to join our team. This is a part time contract, working 22.8 hours per week across 3 days and reports directly to our Program Manager . You’ll make a difference in this role by:

  • providing consultation, assessment and therapy intervention that supports children and adults to build their independence and reach their goals

  • collaborating with other vision and hearing specialists and therapists to play a key role in assessing and implementing individualised programs for our clients

  • managing client related administration ensuring all client records, information and case notes meet legislative and policy requirements

  • understanding and using processes related to NDIS funding for clients


The person we are looking for

To be successful, you’ll need to demonstrate that you meet the following selection criteria, including:

  • degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • current Occupational Therapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 
  • demonstrated Occupational Therapist experience working with children and adults with sensory impairment and additional needs
  • working knowledge of operational systems and processes related to clients e.g. client bookings, NDIS processes.
  • a current Victorian drivers’ licence
  • working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check in accordance with Victorian Child Protection legislation
  • work autonomously as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • familiarity with the National Disability Insurance Scheme
